Rare T That was a weird movie, but it's good at what it is. One can't give it a bad review simply because the plot was unpleasant (if it were to happen in real life, and it does). Consider it a thriller romcom; it has a great plot for that weird collab, in addition to the great performances, cinematography, and humor. Bus Stop is meant to be taken lightly, and with that attitude in mind while watching it, it will turn out to be just fine as an enjoyable watch. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/11/24 Full Review Alec B It should actually be listed as "inspired by Inge's play", not "based on" since it throws just about everything from the source material out the window. Monroe is uncharacteristically unglamorous for almost the whole movie, which is the only interesting thing about it. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/13/23 Full Review David F While it's much different from the claustrophobic play that took place exclusively in its eponymous locale, this film does feature some of Marilyn Monroe's best acting. She plays a lounge performer who attracts the attention of a boorish simpleton rancher form Montana, in town for a rodeo. The pairing leads to broad comedy and frankly a lot of very dated "courting" but Monroe truly shines as a sort of lower-class Southern Belle. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/01/23 Full Review StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 36 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/07/23 Full Review Mark A One of Marilyn Monroe's best performances. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/20/22 Full Review michael c Not so funny and actually pretty sad considering the story line and poor acting from the main characters. Irritating noise from both actors and the one and only truly good, believeable moment was the fist fight out in the snow. The rest should be canned & shelved! The close ups of Marilyn looked tired and her drinking problems were apparent in her face. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
