TULSA KING, in which it starts out with Manfretti, his daughter and
her two boys trying to get them into some high ranking school. One in
which the emphasis seems to be on every kid being special while
Manfretti has his own ideas on how the school should be run which
shows up when the principal brings up the RULER method of conflict
resolution.
Dwight and Thresher continue to go at it with Thresher having some of
his Chinese guys destroy the wind farm Dwight bought. Though they pay
a heavy price when Dwight and his guys show up to the wind farm and
have a beat down with the Chinese. At the end we get to see Thresher
try and show up Dwight on his date, but that also will come at a heavy
cost of over $18k. LOL.
I also watched DOCTOR ODYSSEY where in it was Wellness Week. (Don't
judge me as it harmless, put your brain on coast mode, viewing.)
A week centered on healing where in multiple people got sick as Avery
apparently got sick from some of the special food, while another
patient got sick from an acupuncture treatment, another got sick from
a health powder and lastly the person behind the Wellness Week got
sick from her own health powders.
Oh, and it turns out that a tropical storm that the ship was going to
miss turns into a hurricane that forms around the ship so it starts
out in the eye of the hurricane. Needless to say it turns out that
causes issues as Avery has appendicitis and has to have surgery as the
ship rides out the hurricane. The acupuncture turns out to have caused
the lung to be punctured due to the use of extra long needles. The
wellness leader, Bethany, turns out to have copper poisoning and needs
chelation caused by the health powders she has been eating.
Oh, and the special chef that Bethany brought on board ends up
quitting so that she doesn't have to make those 'special' health
meals. She then ends up joining the ship's staff (and hence a new cast
member).
What did you watch?

What did you watch?
I watched:
Law & Order - "Big Brother" - Riley's low life brother shows up as the
key witness in a murder case but because of his strong belief in honor
among thieves, he refuses to testify. This was a ridiculous episode and
the brother looked a little too much like the victim for my tastes. I
had to rewind the episode back to make sure who was who.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit - Law & Order: Special Victims Unit -
"Divide and Conquer" - Kelli Giddish returns as Sergeant Amanda Rollins
for what I'm guessing is a backdoor pilot to help SVU track down an
international gang of robbers. I honestly can't figure out what the
deal is with Giddish. Was she fired, did she quit, was her leaving
mutual or what? But she keeps coming back in what appears to be setups
for her own spin off show, but if that's the case why hasn't it been
announced yet? And I completely forgot she's supposed to be married to
the DA, seeing as how she's never mentioned.

Yep, that's the one. It's worth checking out. If the first episode
does not grab you then the series isn't for you as it's very much the
same throughout the series. No swift turns in this one.

LOL. That show is BRILLIANT MINDS, which I've watched but am giving up
on. It's not a bad show but it isn't compelling and there's no hot
babes on it. Which you do get on DOCTOR DOYSSEY as it's the show
focused on the medical team and the captain (Don Johnson) of a cruise
ship, the ODYSSEY. It's light fair that doesn't demand much of the
viewer.

This episode was just bad all around. Jimmy Olson needed to pull Riley aside
and slap some sense into him. Just because you're related to someone doesn't
mean you bail them out of every constant mess they make of their lives.
Courtroom Absurdity of the Week: Starbuck has the wife of the murder victim on
the stand who has testified that the watch found in the defendant's desk was
her husband's watch. Starbuck starts going on about how many Rolexes were
manufactured by the company and how many of that model were sold that year.
And of course Price doesn't object, even though those are all facts that have
to be proven, not just stated by the defense lawyer. If Starbuck wanted the
jury to know that 1200 Rolexes of that exact same make and model were sold in
New York in 2024, then she'd have to call someone from the Rolex company to
testify to those facts. She can't just assert them herself in front of the
jury.

I'm amused how Benson is now not just a cop, but a therapist for every
victim.
In this episode, we have the rape victim's friend find her drowning her
sorrows at a bar and what does she do? She calls Benson. I mean, think about
that. You find your friend getting drunk at a bar and you call the cops. How
is this in any way a police matter. And Benson, who's now a captain and
running an entire division drops everything in the middle of the work day to
go and be cloyingly empathetic to a girl getting drunk in a bar.

My favorite part was “look! A Rolex with a blue face! Only the killer could
have this!“
Or, you know, any of the other 10,000 people in the immediate area that
have a Rolex or a knock off with a blue face.

Yep. I watch some Producer Michael (music producer) videos and he is
a big watch collector. It seems like every store he visits has new
Rolex models on sale that almost always include the blue face as that
seems a common color for watch faces to go along with the colorful
dials.

Yeah, one would expect there to be someone on staff at the med bay all
the time. Maybe not a nurse but just someone serving as security and
to call the doc/nurses when needed. Otherwise someone is going to get
sick/hurt and show up at the med bay to find there's no one there and
no obvious way to call for help. With all the staff they had putting
the pool area back in useable state after dealing with the storm one
would assume they could spare a couple of people to man the med bay
after hours.

At the very least lock the door and put up a big red “call for help“

Wasn't it the gun-running crime he'd been arrested for already at the
beginning? He was working off the dismissal as an informant but since he
decided to fuck over the prosecution on the stand and "forget" everything, his
deal was revoked and he had to face the gun charge.

What did you watch?
Yesterday, I mostly ditched soaps to get back to "Snowpiercer" season #4
(I'm going to try to finish this off this weekend, so I can move on to
probably season #2 of "The Rings of Power"), and I finally got around to
watching "MaXXXine" and the Thursday night LMN flick I recorded!:
soaps: GH - I did get through Wed's ep of this. Not much happened -
Sasha asked Michael for the money to help Cody buy that ranch, but
Michael turns her down. The problem is Tracy overhears, and then chews
Sasha out for asking. (It's unclear if Tracy will help Cody buy the
ranch.) Meanwhile, Holly Sutton has dinner with Felicia, but acts all
weird when she sees an ad with Cody and Sasha, and acts even weirder
when Felicia tells Holly that Cody is Mac's son, and he and Sasha are
dating... At the end, it's revealed that Sasha is Holly's daughter!!
PLOT TWIST!! (Which makes me wonder if they are going to retcon it that
Holly was somehow involved in Valentin's plot when Sasha originally came
to town and pretended to be Nina's daughter.) There was also Lulu stuff
which was mostly skippable - but at the end, Sam tells Dante that she's
the match as Lulu's donor. (She's dead meat now... :( )
Snowpiercer (recorded) - Ep's #1.5 & 1.6.
Of these two episode, I thought ep. #1.5 was the much better one, as
Layton has to decide to turn over Big Alice to Evol! Son of Coul, in a
gambit to try to get his daughter back. So, pretty much everyone gets
captured. It's then revealed that, of course! Wilford is still alive,
and conspiring with Son of Coul. In the end, Till, Bennett Knox and Ruth
manage to escape and get back to Big Alice. But now my third favorite
character is sacrificed. >:/ (It's a good thing this show didn't come
back for season #5, as by that point all of my favorite
characters/actors would have been off the show!!)
I didn't care for ep. #1.6 much. There was much less Big Alice. Much
of this one was Layton vs. Wilford, with maybe both of them vs. Son of
Coul. Meanwhile, back at New Eden there's a subplot where Oz tries to
get info out of the person that betrayed New Eden to Son of Coul's
forces. In the end, Oz discovers that New Eden has been boobytrapped for
destruction, so I'm guessing they will end up having to abandon New Eden.
Just 4 more episodes to go that I am hoping to get through this weekend.
MaXXXine (Max) - In what would have been glorious 4k if Max hadn't
screwed us cable subscribers out of that!
The third (and final?) entry in the "X" trilogy.
I will say this - this one had by far the best cast of any of the
three films. The first one ("X") basically just had Jenna Ortega and
Brittany Snow. The second one ("Pearl") had no one notable that I can
recall!
But this one has Elizabeth Debicki(!), Giancarlo Esposito(!!),
Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins(!) and Kevin
Bacon(!!!), and even has Sophia Thatcher in a smaller role. I dunno how
they did it, but *everyone* seems to have wanted to be in this film!
Of the three films, my first impression is still that "Pearl" was
the best one of the trilogy - "X" is ostensibly a "horror film" but is
bad at that parts and was actually better at the "history of porn" parts
of the film; "Pearl" was basically more of a psychological drama or
character study and worked best IMO. "MaXXXine" is less a horror film,
and more a "thriller" (it definitely felt like it was channeling Brian
De Palma in parts...) - I'd put it down as better than "X", but not as
good as "Pearl".
I did like the sort of "history of film" aspects of this one, as it
is set in 1985. And Elizabeth Debicki's director character is enjoyable.
This flick definitely does has a killer soundtrack - this was one of
the most enjoyable soundtracks I've heard in a while!
I appreciated that this film did not go back to the first film for
its villain (that wouldn't have made any sense), and came up with
somebody new.
The ending of this film is satisfactory (if a little over-the-top),
though I'm not 100% sure it even happened and wasn't just Maxine's
"fantasy".
After watching this, I wish there had been a 1980s "The Puritan"
horror film series! - I would have watched that!!
My Professor's Deadly Secret (recorded of LMN Thurs. night) - This
turned out to be a lot better than I was expecting.
Once again, it took me at least half the film to figure out what was
going on (though there was one strong clue fairly early on if you were
paying attention!).
This was an odd little script - Maddison Bullock actually wrote it,
and it feels like she either had background in math, or is a big math
fan. It wasn't complicated on that end - it doesn't go through equations
- but does seem to cheerlead math the whole time.
Gist: A "brilliant" math professor suddenly dies. Her math prodigy
niece (Kayden Brenna Tokarski) is convinced she was murdered, which
drives an even further wedge between her and her dance studio-owning mom
(Nicole Marie Johnson) who seems to just want this all to go away. The
dad (James Hyde) tries to smooth things over with the daughter by hiring
a math tutor/mentor (Maddison Bullock) from the same university that the
dead math professor taught at, who conveniently turns up at the right time!
Coincidence?! - What do you think?!
Anyway, this one plays it pretty close to the vest through at least
the first half, so you're not sure what's going on.
I will say this, though - the villain's actions don't make a whole
lot of sense in places, and doesn't really square with their stated
objectives were.
There is an also out-of-left-field "twist" that did seem to come out
of nowhere, and really wasn't necessary for the story being told.
But, overall, I enjoyed this one, and did keep me guessing for quite
a long time.
This is also another one where the villain in memory-holed in the
final scene - when will these movies learn: I am much more interested in
what happens to the villains in these than what happens to Our Heroes!(tm)!!

Hey, thanks for asking!
Batman versus Dracula
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472219/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
A 2005 animated movie that frankly sucked.
Bad character, design, and poor animation and a bunch of actors I’ve never
heard of doing the voices.
Penguin and the Joker (a weird joker who seems to have the hair of a
predator) managed to wake up Dracula, who in turn wants to wake up his
wife. For some reason, all the Dracula victims who instantly turn into
vampires are considered innocent but Dracula is considered a monster who
must be killed. Even Alfred calls Batman on that logic. All sorts of
fighting that Batman could’ve never won or even survived ensues. They set
up a big target early on that if anybody cures a vampire they lose their
memory so obviously all these people can find out that Bruce Wayne is
Batman, but nobody does except Dracula himself and I have no idea how it
came to him and they were going to kill him anyway, so this was pointless
Plot. Only watchable if you’re watching anything Halloween themed in late
October, and then just barely.

Isn't suckage a requirement in any Dracula movie?

I've done good in this world. Now I'm tired and just want to be a cranky
dirty old man.
